How to dress for work when the weather is changeable
The seasons change and the outlook is unpredictable. The only way to cope with such changeable conditions is to dress in several layers. That way you can prepare for different temperatures and move between different environments in comfort.
When a worker's body overheats or cools drastically, they lose concentration and their performance suffers greatly. Wearing suitable clothing contributes to greater productivity and safety. Dressing appropriately is especially important in environments where workers are exposed to harsh weather conditions for long periods.
Layering is the key to staying dry, warm and safe in adverse conditions. A multi-layer clothing system provides a comfortable level of warmth for workers exposed to changing environmental conditions.
The key to successful layering is that the layers of clothing should be thin at first and gradually thicker as you move away from the body. So as a base layer, choose a short-sleeved T-shirt and work trousers made of a material thin enough that you will not be too hot during the warmest part of the day.
