WORKWEARChoose the workwear fabric that is best suited to your job

Workwear is made from many different materials, chosen so that the garments provide the best comfort, durability and breathability for different working conditions. Which type of fabric or combination of materials is ideal for you depends on your industry and the environment you work in. Read on to learn more about the most common properties of fabrics and find out which individual material to choose.

COTTON - A 100% NATURAL MATERIAL

A fabric made of 100% cotton has some very special properties, as it is an entirely natural material. Cotton is soft and very comfortable to wear. It can be washed at temperatures up to 95 degrees C. Workwear made of pure cotton is excellent for employees who work near sparks, as it stops charring from spreading across the garment.

Cotton has many advantages, such as its ability to regulate moisture, insulate and provide comfort, and it is also a hypoallergenic fibre. 100% cotton is an excellent choice for workwear, as cotton fabric is comfortable, durable and offers many benefits that other fabrics simply cannot. It is true, however, that natural fibres such as cotton are not as strong and hard-wearing as synthetic alternatives, which is why they are often blended with polyester fibres.

NYLON

Nylon is an everyday use of nylon polyamide fibres, as it is tough and durable. These fabrics are more resistant to moisture and dry faster than other fabrics. However, they are more often blended with high-performance fabrics. Ripstop nylon is known for its exceptional strength, durability and long service life.

POLYESTER

Polyester is very popular for its durability, light weight and ability to wick moisture away. Although it is not very soft or comfortable, it can be combined with cotton to make durable and comfortable garments.
Nowadays it is not unusual for clothing to be made from a blend of cotton and polyester. The combination of these materials has many advantages. Such garments can be as comfortable and breathable as cotton and have the water-resistant and long-lasting properties of polyester.

TECHNICAL OR HIGH-PERFORMANCE FIBRES

Technological progress has made it possible to produce high-performance fibres with exceptional properties and characteristics, such as aramid, carbon and ceramic fibres, and aluminium. They all have different uses, including resistance to cutting and puncturing.

The result of using technical fibres is an antistatic, acid-resistant, non-flammable and/or stain-resistant fabric. The main advantage of these fabrics is that their properties are inseparably linked to the thread from which the fabric is woven, so they do not wash out when the garments are laundered.
