## ACCESS SYSTEM FOR VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL CONFINED SPACES

Systems for protecting users when entering and exiting vertical and horizontal confined spaces are used in places that are large enough and configured for access by at least one operator. In these environments, because of the difficulty of entry and exit, especially in emergencies, the risk of serious injury or death is very high. These environments present additional risk factors due to the possible presence of toxic substances, flammable gases and/or vapours, or hazardous conditions such as oxygen deficiency or excess.

Confined spaces exist in many forms and are found in various industries and other work areas. Unfamiliar areas and their internal environment should be treated as a confined space, and all necessary safety measures should be taken.

In practice, for entry into and exit from confined spaces, adequate worker safety also requires the use of other personal protective equipment to protect the head, eyes, face, hearing, hands, feet and body, as well as portable gas detectors, ladders, scaffolding and fall protection equipment. Appropriate legally required training of users must also be provided before they start using the equipment, which is available to users at our [academy and courses](https://www.utg-vodnik.si/servis-in-izobrazevanja/servis-in-izobrazevanja/servis-in-izobrazevanja)!
